About Me

Hello All

My name is Scott Mclaughlin and I am the Co Creator of "The Cichlid Club of York PA". I have kept cichlids throughout my life but have seriously gotten into the hobby over the last 4 years. I use to write a column called "The Cichlid Corner" for Tank Tales over the last 2 years and I'm currently working on a few other articles for different publications. I am a huge fan of Central American Cichlids (I like the big boys) and I have 3 large display tanks along with some smaller tank for breeding and grow out reasons. My goals are realistic for this club and humble. Nothing too big, just some great people getting together to enjoy the hobby. I look forward to meeting new people, and hope everyone will enjoy this site and our club.

hey scott my name is tim taylor i have one 90 gallon tank an new to the african cichlids but have kept fish for 20 years i had gars, snakeheads right now i have a xxl oscar i have had him for the past 11 years now . i have tried to put other oscars with him but it dosent seem to work out to well for the other oscars . i dont have the room for mutiple tanks but have been slowly working on my tank for about 8 weeks now to make it ready for cichlids without overstressing my big boy , im afraid that i might have to give up on the idea of keeping cichlids because i think the only way its going to work is my oscar or the cichlids an i dont think i could part with my big boy . thanks for listening
