Love my family I'm including spouse, daughters, son in law, three dogs, three cats, four parrots, two common plecos, two red oscars, two tiger oscars, two albino oscars, one blood parrotfish, and two very blue oscars and no idea of genus, and two managuense. I was born in New England. Don't ask how I got here.
I grew up with Oscars and Dempseys as my parents bred them and I loved interacting with the pairs - and watched with delight when the fry hatched. I wanted to share that experience with my husband and daughters so we acquired our cichlids. We have at least one mating pair, possibly two. Our albinos are blind due to their poor water conditions at the store they were in. Their vision has improved a little but is still an issue at feelings as well as recognition. The female albino who laid a few weeks ago paired off with a tiger male and the eggs were fertilized. However the male went to ward off unwanted "visitors" and when he moved back to be with his mate, she didn't recognize him and they had a significant fight. In the meantime, our large pleco had a feast....
